Nikita is one of my favs. I also like the character of Beatrice Kiddo (a.k.a. "The Bride") from Kill Bill.

Melanie Griffith, "Cherry 2000".
Leelee Sobieski in, "My First Mister" (What kind of "toughess" are we talking about?)
Holly Hunter in "The Firm".
Granny, in TV's "Beverly Hillbillies"
"Roseanne" Barr,
Franka Potente, "Run Lola Run"
Hiam Abbass, 'The Visitor"
Julia Ormond, "Smilla's Sense of Snow"
and yes, of course, as someone already mentioned, Pam Grier in "Jackie Brown".

Sometimes we don't find out how tough they really are until the end, like Toni Collette in "Muriel's Wedding".

I liked Police Woman starring Angie Dickinson... It was an old TV show!

Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo!

The original swedish versions, of course. Not the new hollywood one coming out. There is nothing in the world that will make me see the remake. But I can't believe nobody mentioned Lisbeth, she's amazing!

You mean like Æon Flux.
Or Diana Rigg as Mrs. Peel. They don't make them like that anymore.
