The cast of American Hustle (2013) intrigues me: Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, did I mention Amy Adams? And Jennifer Lawrence. Oh, I typed her twice I see. I could just type Jen and Amy for short. Those two would draw me to a theater seat.

I want to see both of those movies, but I think the only one coming here soon will be Dallas Buyers Club, which actually takes place during the 80's, when AIDS surfaced.

As someone who graduated high school in 1972, in terms of production design, I thought Mike Judge did a pretty good job with Dazed and Confused (I think it takes place in 1976). But aside from the bellbottoms, those coming-of-age characters were timeless, their hopes and dreams could have happened in any era.

I'd like to see both of them, though I have no problem waiting for the DVD.

Tarantino has been homaging the '70s for years.

Do they have saxophone music in the love scenes?
Did you ever notice that with movies from that period? I didn't notice it back then but now, when I see them on TV, I wonder if it's a cue for parents to "hide the kids."

Just saw American Hustle; they got the 1978 clothes right. And how men got perms. LOL

I thought that "Boogie Nights" did an excellent job of capturing the feel of the '70's.

How about Johnny Depp's movie Blow? The clothes were on point and the music soundtrack was awesome
