Back to the Future was more consistent.

Why T3 was a crime:

The entire point of the first two Terminator films was that you can change the future. Our choices matter. Our decisions are gravely serious because they have profound affect upon the future. "No fate but what we make." T3 came along and said, "Ahhh... never mind." In an effort to milk more $$ out of the franchise, the studio basically took a big dump on the first two movies.

That, and the entire point was to have a hot blonde Terminator. T3 was to the Terminator franchise what the Monkees were to the Beatles. A shameless mistake brought on solely by the desire for cash.

It's that very point that I thought made the movie blend in so well with the first two. The future that they were headed towards was inevitable given the rapid advancement and dependibility on technology. Eventually the button would have to be pushed as a temporary solution with long term consequences. Sort of makes you think if we're actually headed in that direction. Anyway, it pointed out that regardless of how many Terminators they were able to stop, they were going to lose anyway. The problem was always bigger than them. And I thought it was great how they showed the defense grids becoming "self aware" and began to take over. The only thing I didn't like about it was the blond modelesque Terminator which seemed like a cheesy appeal to fit some "eye candy" in there and I also didn't like the fact that they couldn't bring Sarah Conner back due to contractual agreements.

Btw, I truely hated the Terminator prequal.

I've never seen it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. T3 fooled me enough.

I actually liked the TV show a lot though, especially the first season.

I too liked the TV show- at first, but the longer it ran, the slower it got. By the end it was as slow as molasses - there was little to no action in the story, and they would just sit around and talk, and it just stagnated.

It took 3 years after it left theaters for me to see it on netflix because I was never into the idea, and my instincts were right. It was pure garbage, especially the whole Terminator human hybrid angle.

I hated the idea of tv show as well. I may take a second look at a few episodes just to make sure though. I think I gave up after the first episode with the cheesy graphics.

Although I like all the Terminators, yes ALL of them but I think overall Back to the Future is just a stronger series.

BTTF feels more like a trilogy. 2 and 3 were even shot at the same time. There's a lot of continuity going on. Same director. Same cast.

T3 was tacked on. Different cast except for Arnold, different director/crew. Came many years later. T1/T2 are all there is in the Termintor franchise for me.

That said, they're hard to compare, but T2 and the first BTTF are two of my all time favorite movies.

Both series are total classics. I can't pick one.
NO, I liked it, too. James Cameron directed the first two, I believe, Johnathon Mostow, the third. I agree with what you said on both...
