Looking for name of movie in scary movie early 80's (film, watch)

I have been trying to remember the name of this movie I saw when I was young...

My memory is sketchy as im 35 now but i'll do the best i can.

It's a scary movie... or atleast was to me when i was young. The main character is young white male maybe even a teenager. He's slender. He might be loner or atleast not a popular kid. Because people were making fun of him throughout the movie. Then some where along the way he gets some kind of power or confidence and decides to get revenge on the people.

I know he dresses as vampire at some point. I also know he throws a man in a wheel chair down some stairs or makes him fall. And this man had made fun of him or something earlier on in the film. This is the only detail i can remember but I'm almost positive he did this to several people. Getting revenge that is... but in a sinister way. He may live with his mom but that's a real stretch. I dont know if thats true.

This is all know... I know that's not much to go on... but if you have an idea or guesses to the movie it would help. I was trying to explain the plot to my wife to see if she had seen it and she had no clue what i was talking about. And I want to watch it as an adult to see if it still scares me... Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure you're talking about Fade To Black. Great movie.
