I haven't seen that many, but I do like The Quiet Man. It's very romantic, and the setting is beautiful.

Way and above all others would be "The High and the Mighty"... It had an excellent supporting cast (How about Jan Sterling???). It set the pace for airplane movies. I bought it from Amazon.com the minute it was released and have watched it many times.

Oh, love John Wayne movies..he's always been a favorite.
I like Quiet Man, The Searchers, and many others. There is one where he's the commander of a Western post...maybe it's Tie A Yellow Ribbon or Fort Apache? I think Shirley Temple is in it as well (as a young adult).

I agree with The Searchers. It was his favorite movie. And I think that he really did some great acting in this one. And the direction of John Ford, magnificant.

The Fighting Seabees, because my father's outfit was in that movie after they came back from Tarawa, my father was in the Seabees during World War II and his battalion was at Tarawa, which the movie was made about, when his unit came back stateside for R&R they were used in the movie and my father got a couple pictures of John Wayne on the movie set, so needless to say that's one of my favorite John Wayne movies, the other one is The Quiet Man.

John Wayne was voted the 3rd most popular movie star in a survey last year. He was the only deceased movie star to make the top ten. He consistently makes the top ten every year even though he has been dead for 30 years.

My favorites: True Grit, The Alamo, The War Wagon, Big Jake, The Cowboys( which I have on Bluray and it looks great)
