I probably won't see this in theaters or on DVD just on principal that the enemies in the movie (and its potential sequels) are not zombies, like in the book. I feel as though the enemies are a knock off of the infected in 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later. And speaking of those latter two films, I want a sequel to 28 Weeks Later!

I really enjoyed the movie, but then I go to be entertained. I am not a critic and don't pretend to be. It kept me interested until the end, and that is rare. I will go see a sequel if there is one.

I see what the book writer, Max Brooks, meant when he said that the movie kept the spirit of the book. Theoretically, once the "war" ends, Brad Pitt's character can still go around and investigate/interview survivors and get their stories. He's already in a position to do this (working for the UN), and he has some of his own first hand accounts.

I wasn't expecting the movie to be particularly good, considering all the problems/re-shoots. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but it wasn't mind-blowing.

Interestingly, the trailers before the movie got a bit more of a response. They seemed to be a bit more, I guess, intense, than I what I would have expected. My family now has a running joke on the "clapping" from The Conjuring, which I must admit, has been one of the most effectively creepy trailer moments I've ever experienced, and I don't get creeped out or scared easily.

I was glad to see that Brad Pitt's character exercised a small degree of common sense and used some "armor." I hate all these zombie flicks where people don't use the slightest degree of innovation to protect themselves from bites.

Agreed, although I will say if we ever end up with Zombies like those seen in WWZ, we're screwed! Lol

Yeah, I enjoyed the movie but it wasn't a masterpiece or groundbreaking. I was surprised at how aggressive these zombies were in their pursuit ... quite disturbing. I'll have to revamp my zombie apocalypse survival plan now.
