It's a drama centered around an jetliner crash and the pilot who gets embroiled in a scandal about his alleged drinking habits despite having saved many passengers. A good cast featuring Denzel, John Goodman as a reporter and the always excellent Don Cheadle. Seems a bit unique and i would like to see it. I have not seen any reviews yet.
I thought Denzil will certainly get an Oscar for his performance. Loved the ending. Loved his acting ability. Not sure its posssible to fly a plane upside down, though.
I saw this today and it was a good, not great movie with a good, not great performance for Denzel.
The movie wasn't about what I thought it was going to be about, however.
Jaypee: Just wondering : what did you think it would be about? I also didn't think it would be so much about addiction, as it would be about a plane crash and the resulting survivors of the crash. I still think Denzel (new spelling) did a great job and he deserves an Oscar.

I thought it would be about the plane crash ... perhaps a courtroom drama with a meatier role for Don Cheadle.
It was as if it couldn't decide which movie it will be and kind of glossed the surface with both plotlines.
