Personally, I was a little tired of the ultra-slick bond with the ton of gadgets. I thought the movies were becoming kinda cheesy much the way the Batman series became very cheesy with Danny Devito, Val Kilmer and then Jim Carrey. It never got as corny as Batman, but my point is that the Bond series is moving in a darker, more serious direction (like the Dark Knight), and I really like that. And I think Craig is the best man for the role.

I mean, c'mon, did you not fall out of your seat when Bond landed on the train and adjusted his cuff? Who wouldn't give to have that type of composure?
I do not completely disagree with you but Bond movies have always been a bit gadget driven, 007s have always been womanizers with slick moves and unrealistic action...so yeah, they was always some "cheese" in Bond movies and perhaps some had more than others but they were entertaining and fun to watch, Daniel Craig ones were more like watching a "Taken" type of movie, not worse or better, just different and I prefer the old style more. That is all.

PS. I cannot help but question the taste of women who think D. Craig is hot. Really? Bah.

Craig is a fantastic Bond. All of the gadget crap was getting super cheesey and corny. I'm glad that cut that out for a more realistic/gritty version. Although QOS was pretty bad, Casino Royale was simply awesome.

Yeah, I just think people want the gritty stuff nowadays (including me). Lines like "Gee willikers, Batman!" and the "Bam!" caption may have worked for audiences in the 1960s, but today audiences expect more of the Jack Bauer-type of character who strangles his victims with telephone cables and shoots his enemy's wife in the leg to get the intel he wants.

I like the new Bond movies. While I liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond, the movies with him as the star became caricatures and frames for the one-liners. The new movies have genuine substance and plot and characterization, and Daniel Craig is a GREAT James Bond. I'm really enjoying them.

Saw the trailer for Skyfall today when I went to see Taken 2. Looks great! Can't wait!

Face is "eh" but his BUTT is to die for! (Seriously...Cowboys and Aliens was worth the price of admission simply for the frequent shots of Craig's butt framed in chaps. Yowza.)

(But I don't find the character of Bond to be particularly sexually appealing.)

I find him to be extremely attractive. I find his face to be masculine and rugged, but yet also refined at times.

He seems real whereas the other Bonds were almost too pretty.

And I'm jealous you saw Taken 2! That's another one on my list. Liam Neeson is another actor I find to be handsome for the same reasons.

I saw Skyfall today. The theater was packed for a 10am showing. The film shows 13 times today at the theater I saw it at. I enjoyed the film. I thought it was very well done and Daniel Craig which I have liked since he took on the Bond role. Was excellent in Skyfall. He has a rugged yet gentleman demeanor to his character. I won't say anymore about the film, until more people have seen it. It only opened today my Birthday. I will say the ending was very sad. I didn't expect it.

I hope everyone that sees Skyfall will enjoy it.

I agree with this. As someone else said this Bond is gritter then the other Bonds & seems to realstic spy.
When I was told that Graig was going to be the new Bond I wasn't sure but as they keep going on the more I love them. Can't wait to see Skyfall.
