Looking for a tv series/movie where a family with two daughters arrives somewhere on the frontier.
One daughter marries an indian. But the indian has an affair with her sister.
Eventually the indian runs off and gets himself killed.
She remarries to character A.
Another subplot has two men competing to inherit a trading tavern.
When the owner dies the one who is left out burns it down.
Lets call the arsonist character B.
The one who was supposed to inherit the tavern was character A.
Another man is a frontier judge and a family man.
He has an affair. The woman gets pregnant and out of desperation, she marries character B.
The child that is born eventually drowns herself in the river when she learns her history.
The judge buys a load of hay.
The farmer stays in the wagon as it is being weighed.
The judge later claims that the farmer is his slave since he has been weighed and bought.
