I didn't now I actually have a reason to see the movie again if my brother sees it again but in (l)IMAX 3-D like he wants to.
The Mothra Easter Egg:
Spoiler
When Bryan Cranston and his son are going through their old house, there is a terrarium with a cocoon growing in it. At the bottom of the terrarium is a label reading: MOTHRA.
Read a few reviews that Godzilla's appearance was very limited on screen. That worries me a bit. Too much human and not enough beast. Reminds me of Predator vs Alien movie...too much human and not enough aliens duking it out.
Yes, Godzilla isn't fighting all that often in this movie. But that's not to say there aren't monsters. There is a lot of action involving the MUTOs. Godzilla's presence is the one that is really built up.
A lot of people might be worried about the lack of Godzilla, but the MUTOs are honestly really interesting. Their scenes were always interesting, threatening, atmospheric and exciting.
Saw it today. Really enjoyed it. The G-man especially was awesome.
The human characters were a tad bland. I got the feeling the screenwriters were really interesting in Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe's character, but the studio suits said, "No! Put in more pretty people!" Hence the soldier and the nurse, who never really had the chance to do much other than go from place to place and look worried.
Did anyone else catch the Mothra Easter Egg early in the film?
After watching it the first time, I felt as if they could have done the entire movie without Dr. Ishiro Serizawa.
I did see the Mothra East Egg. I doubt Mothra is going to be in any future films. A giant moth just won't work.

I feel Serizawa worked an it made sense for the take on Godzilla as the ultimate protector of the global ecosystem.
I also feel Mothra could work too, we saw TWO giant praying mantis like MUTOs work so why not?
Not me. Since he and Cranston were the best actors in the movie, I missed him every time he left the screen.
Agreed. And I don't think that was a sequel set up. I think it was just a fun Easter Egg for the fans.
I actually hope they do new monsters for the sequels rather than update the old Toho beasties.
I didn't mind the new Mutos but I would love to see the originals like Ghedorah, Mothra and Rodan again. The Smog Monster, Jet Jagguar and others, I'd pass on personally but the big three are ones that have name value and can translate now that we saw Godzilla hit huge.
