There was a movie made in the 30's I think with a platinum blonde actress who played the dead wife ghost during the holidays, she "nicely" haunted the husband trying to keep him from marrying another woman and it seems her ghost father gave her the gift of returning to life, does anyone know this actress or better still the movie name? she had platinum blonde hair very straight and shoulder length in this movie I just cannot remember any other details.
I think the OP is maybe referring to an actress by the name of Jean Harlow and she was real big in the 1930's . Op please google her name and see if that is who you are talking about .
I use internet movie data base and know it is not Harlow, Lombard, or Bennett. It was on last yr Christmas eve 11 to 12:30 I remember Robert Osbourne the host talked briefly about the movie and the actors/actresses but like a dummy I didn't write the title down, thanks every one ill keep looking.
UPDATE: Just found the trailer for Blithe spirit on youtube, that's the one!!!!! Thank you all so very much, I appreciate it

I started getting TCM's Now Playing monthly guide mid-2011 and I have the Monday 12/24 Christmas Eve listing for 2012 and I don't see it. The Bishop's Wife (1947) has an angel in the storyline but it's Cary Grant, and the female lead is Loretta Young, who's not a blonde.

Sounds to me like you are talking about Veronica Lake in "I Married a Witch" (1942). I believe the movie inspired the tv show "Bewitched".
If I am right and if you are anything akin to your nic, it is a samefull day when a British subject can't remember Rex Harrison being a MAJOR clue in the puzzle.
