Searching for Bobby Fischer
I am David
The Sound of Music
The Bicycle Thief
The 400 Blows

But which movies are my favorites varies from day to day. If I made the same list again on a different day, it might be 5 other movies. Besides that, I can't remember which movies are G and PG. For all I know, some of the above might not be.

Mine are -
1) Sounder - the 1972 version . The performances of Cycly Tyson and Paul Winfield are wonderful ( IMO )
2) The Cowboys - 1972 again. John Wayne's performance in this film, The kids, the scenery, the story line, I love it all .
3) What's Eating Gilbert Grape - though this movie has a PG 13 rating , I added it because Lenardo DeCaprio's portrayal of a young man with Autism is outstanding .The movie is also a good glimpse into what family life is like for the siblings of an individual with autism.
4) Little Women ( another vote for the version mentioned earlier) - beautiful costuming , scenery, music , just a lovely film .
5) The Sound of Music - the most beautiful picture of my father's home land ever .It captures my heart from the opening scene every time I see it .

Ah, WarGames. Great flick! Ally Sheedy looked spectacular in the early 80's before her drug problem.

My top five favorite 'PG' films:

1. Airplane! (1980)
2. Rocky (1976)
3. The Sting (1973)
4. Back to the Future (1985)
5. Ghostbusters (1984)

Honorable mentions to Jaws, Dead Poets Society and American Graffiti.
