I just saw the new Robocop trailer......

RoboCop - Official Trailer #2 - In Theaters 2/12/14 - YouTube

Im not sure how I feel about this. The 87 movie was just a classic.

I think the '87 flick is very over-rated. It's like the pitch man went into the studio exec's office and said: "Dirty Harry meets the Terminator!"

The remake ... I'll catch it on DVD. No burning desire to see it in the theater.

Will Redbox it or hope it comes on Netflix stream eventually. Based on the trailer alone, I am not going to have very high expectation for this movie.

I would've been more excited had they put Sam Jackson in the lead role as ROBOSHAFT.

Who's the cyborg who won't cop out
when there's danger all about?
ROBOSHAFT.
You're damn right.

well... I think the original was a HORRIBLE movie that is extremely overrated. therefore, IMO, the remake cant possibly be worse than the original, and would most likely be at least a marginally more watchable film. however, since it seems a majority of people, for reasons beyond my understanding, see the original movie as "a classic" or otherwise good somehow, it probably wont be very successful as it will never live up to the original.

Toronto was very happy to be the place where Robocop was filmed. A 200 million dollar budget all spent here, and over 3,000 crew and support jobs, for a 10 month shooting schedule. Thanks.

Jim B.

Toronto.

Pretty much. There's a good chance this Robocop remake is gonna suck.

How can you remake a graphic, ultra-violent Rated R movie into a PG-13 movie and expect to do it justice?! Just to sell a few more tickets? Lame.

Hollywood sucks these days, for the most part anyway.

I think the original wasn't very good. Why do another?

I'll have to agree with the majority here. The original was pretty bad, although it seems to have some fans, but it really wasn't a great movie. Why would you bother to remake it? My predicition is that the sequel will have somewhat better special effects and a bad storyline and even worse acting.
