Back in the mid-1960s, before he was famous, Jack Nicholson appeared in two low-budget westerns filmed back-to-back:
The Shooting and
Ride in the Whirlwind. In addition to Nicholson, both movies starred Millie Perkins. They were filmed in Utah. Although the films played well in France, they had no big-screen release in the U.S. From what I have read about them (haven't seen them), these films seemed to have more in common with the "Spaghetti Westerns" that were becoming popular at the time.
