The middle son left, I thought, as he became the prodigal son, wandering off on his own and eventually returning to his father.
That's my take anyway.
But, it's not a good idea to dissect movies like this. I just ate my popcorn and enjoyed the show.
Correct, "The Watchers" are never described, so the director took creative license with their appearance, which pissed off people who had already decided in their own mind what "watchers" looked like, if they had ever even heard of them to begin with.

You know from my point if view I felt Aronofsky went a different way when it came to filming this Bible story. It sure wasn't like Ben Hur or the Ten Commandments or David and Goliath etc in the sense of its presentation. This just seemed to me to be sort of a new approach and orientation to Bible material for the 21st century and really for different audiences nowadays. Maybe we're out of the 'old school' approach?

I need to see the film again though because
I expected one thing but got another. Nothing wrong with that but another viewing would help in assessing the film properly. Just my take.
