If anybody remembers these 2 iconic gangster movies during the 1990s? Frank White played by Christopher Walken in King of NYC (1990) & Nino Brown played by Wesley Snipes in New Jack City (1991). Both characters were head drug cartels to takeover the Big Apple. They wanted MONEY, POWER, & RESPECT, but which character would win in an all out drug war? Which character had a better cause to be victorious? Also, which character had better intelligence? Who do your prefer?
I think its stupid how certain types of people look to characters in these movies as role models, people to emulate, people they revere.
Drug dealers, killers, smugglers, all those types are NOT the people we should be looking up to, putting their posters on our walls, or debating about. Well, maybe in the "hoods" people discuss these things, but better people do not.
With all that being said, I think King of New York was a better movie. Christopher Walken and David Caruso were both very very good.

Ive never heard of King of NewYork..but New Jack City is classic. its right there with Scarface for a lot of black people. It just has so many lines and references people still use today.
NJC was a classic but Nino Brown was a flash in the pan thug. To much , to fast without any thought on the long term. Frank White was a much more thought out type of gangster. It's been many years since I've seen them so I'm going on memory. I did think Judd Nelsons character was cool as hell back then.
