Just finished watching "How Green Was My Valley", which won 5 Oscars in 1941.
I had never seen this movie before now. It is truly a classic. Great story, great actors/actresses and great photography.

Just want to tip my hat to John Ford for this great film. I guess TCM is having a marathon tribute to John Ford. You don't see too many movies like that anymore.

I rented How Green Was My Valley earlier this year and enjoyed it so much, I had not seen it since I was a kid.

Probably my favorite John Ford movie is The Quiet Man.

But there are also The Searchers, The Grapes of Wrath, Mister Roberts and others.

I loved the Grapes of Wrath, the movie and the book. Strong characters, and strong direction with Ford.

Thank God for TCM: a classy organization bringing us the class that used to be Hollywood.

I vote with you for the Quiet Man.....I detest boxing but that was the absolute BEST fight scene ever to grace the silver screen
