Headbutting seems to only hurt the guy being headbutted.

There's a fine line between a trope and a cliche.
I guess it's just how well you pull it off.

One of my pet peeves is:
The Big Explosion that The Heroes are Walking Away From and Never Flinch.
There's a site, Television Tropes, that is basically a HUGE database of these.

Which reminds me of another issue which is that dominions of the bad guys seem totally willing to throw their lives away constantly even when the ship is going down. Do you really know anyone who would let themselves die in order to save some evil guy they're not really been committed to or just being paid for?

Let's not forget another one--THE MAGIC WATER RESCUE.

Every time I see a potential drowning victim pulled from the water, it's the same old thing: a little CPR from the rescuer, a little spit-up and the perfunctory cough from the victim, and that's it. WTH?

If a dang droplet of my own saliva "goes down the wrong pipe, I'm hacking for 15 minutes!

The bad guy with the hostage never ever shoots the good guy when he has the chance. Why is that?
He just talks and talks and talks.

Western lynch mob scenes are obliged by law to have the following elements.

1) Sheriff commenting on how ..."they're over there now getting liquored up."
2) Sheriff telling mob in front of jailhouse.."Awright, that's far enough."
3) When the sheriff tells the mob that the prisoner is going to get a fair trial when Judge Whoever gets there, someone in the crowd will always yell out "He didn' give (fill in name of murder victim) no fair trial!"
4) Sheriff telling mob "You may get me, but I'll get two or three of you first, starting with you." (sheriff points toward biggest loud mouth in crowd.)

no matter what kind of sick you are, you cough. Get cancer, you cough. You had food poisoning, you cough. If you have a bullet in your gut, you cough. If you been shot in the head, you cough. Stub your toe, you cough.
