The best Batman was Kevin Conroy in the animated series in the 1990s & the animated movie Mask of The Phantasm. Conroy had the perfect Bruce Wayne & Batman voice separation without being ridiculous like the Bale Batman.
I LOVED Under The Red Hood. That would be a great movie to do! Lets not discuss Afleck as Batman please It causes me pain. Year One would be great as well. Your right there are so many great story lines.
Oh there are tons of good Batman stories. Batman Begins had aspects of Batman: Year OneBatman v. Superman looks to have aspects of The Dark Knight Returns which is quite possibly one of the best graphic novels ever and I expect that to be as close to that graphic novels we will ever see. Why because the public expects Batman to be the way he has been for years and that is an old man. I'd LOVE to see a Batman Beyond but I doubt that would happen. On the same token, I'd love to see a Miles Morales Spider-Man, Mayday Parker Spider-Girl or even a Spider-Gwen movie but I don't know how the public would take it. Movies are gambles, especially with the budgets for a high action blockbuster like Batman so unless they decide to make a low budget indie-style Under The Red Hood, I doubt it would get made, especially when you need to cover the Jason Todd backstory.
Just for kicks, I went to IMDB.COM and looked up the animated series of the 90s. WOW! Plenty of celebrities were in that series. Some who use to be famous before the series, some famous during the series, and some who later became famous. In the trivia they said Tim Curry was the original choice for the Joker but was deemed too scary for a children's series and went with Mark Hamill.

When the Frank Miller Dark Knight Returns and Batman Beyond came out, I could picture Chuck Conners as that Batman, a man who was once a real tough guy but is now old and gritty but still tough for his age.

Hush would be another good movie. Like you I don't see them being made & I don't see them getting made because the general public wouldn't like them.
