This will bomb. Its a dead franchise and a reboot wont matter, especially with this cast and director.
I am not sure if it will or wont. There is at least one good actor in this AND the director is pretty good as well. I just think the take on the movie isn't the best.
I love the FF, and Trank's last movie got great reviews. But all the reports coming from the set of this movie have been that of a colossal train wreck. But then, I didn't hate the teaser. I wasn't wowed, but it did at least pique my curiosity.
it just looks like it might be a decent SciFi movie but not a FF movie. It's like they had an idea for a scifi flick and then tried to mush it into a FF movie. Sad really because I want it to be good i'm just not feeling it. I wish Marvel would get the rights back from Fox.
I've been down on this reboot since the first details came out and this teaser, while largely visually interesting, doesn't do anything to get me excited. The script was rushed, the casting was rushed, the production was rushed, and then they went radio silent for 6 months after filming wrapped. I don't think anyone at Fox has any faith in this movie and simply needed to make a new movie to retain the rights to the franchise. And the longer Fox retains the rights the longer it will be before Marvel Studios gets the rights and the longer it will be before Marvel Comics publishes FF titles again. The only thing I will give this reboot credit for is using the Negative Zone instead of a space mission. That's interesting and opens the door to a lot of stories and characters right from the start.
