I was in Detroit on business, and they were filming The Island. The streets had these funky street signs and there were all these mocked up "futuristic" cars. It was pretty cool, and at the time I did not know what film they were working on. I realized it later when I actually saw the film that I had seen those sets!
Scenes in several Disney movies and part of a French documentary were filmed on my family ranch in the 60s and 70s. The ranch and my father were also featured in one episode of Wild Kingdom on TV ca. 1968.
I recall a few back streets closed off when they were filming "Driving Miss Daisy" in the Decatur neighborhood of Atlanta, and also in front of The Temple on Peachtree Street, but I didn't think much about it until after the movie was released. It disrupted my regular route to and from work at the time, and like an idiot, I just didn't pay any attention.
