Like I mentioned before, the highlight of the movie was seeing a younger Michael Douglas, that was probably the best special effect in the whole movie.

Yeah, that was an amazing special effect. That was awesome but something they previously did with Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter but in the reverse. Instead of de-aging like Michael Douglas, Hayley was aged.
Checking the box office results, I find that Antman came in at Number One for the 2ND week in a row. It's done better than expected.
In three weeks it has a domestic gross higher than it's production budget. It has placed in second last of 12 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Guardians of the Galaxy placed 4th, beating out original Iron Man .
But what about the Marvel film adaptations that are not part of MCU? Ant Man may still pass X-men before the end of it's run.

Seen it last night and was very pleased. Best movie of 2015 in my estimation. It has more surprises in store for the financial returns as word continues to spread.
When I first heard of this movie title I thought it was a joke. However, after watching the trailer I was intrigued. After seeing the movie in theater, I really loved it. One of my favorite marvel movies. They took a character that seemed so goofy and made it work. Funny script, great acting and awesome graphics. I will be watching again!

I don't think that Ant-Man will pass Fantastic Four or X-Men honestly. Ant-Man did 57.2m its first weekend, dropped 56.5% its second week to 24.9m and dropped another 48.6% its third week to 12.8m. It needs to make up 16.6m on Fantastic Four and 19.2m on X-Men. This week Ant-Man will likely make any where around 4-6m.
On what criteria does the public buy their tickets? Antman rocked the house! Best movie of 2015.
I'll admit though...the concept was initially a hard sell. No way would I have bought without Rotten Tomato and City-Data info. So I answered my own question I suppose.

The Ant-Man movie has been out for four weeks now, I doubt the movie will make 10 million plus this weekend with Mission Impossible and to a lesser extent Josh Trank's Fantastic Four. Also remember it barely beat Pixels in its second week. That is why I questioned the idea it can pass the Tim Story 2005 Fantastic Four and even X-Men. I saw X-Men again (after seeing it opening weekend) about two months after it was released. Try doing that with any movie today except say an anomaly like Jurassic World or a really successful Disney animated movie like Frozen.
