I have seen the trailer previously and it looks creepy. Could be a fresh start for him. He started out strong but put out a string of awful films after. Im going to see it. Im rooting for him. Another flop could be it for him. He will end up directing Syfy channel monster movies otherwise.

M. Night Shyamalan had the luck of directing one of the biggest movies of all time with his second film. Everything is second rate to that effort.
Although "After Earth" was a massive flop, the perception is that the studios caved into Will Smith's desire to make his son a superstar. Shyamalan's directorial effort was criticized, but it is not the major fault of the film. "Lady In the Water" was also pretty much of a turky.
Personally, I thought "The Last Airbender","The Happening", "The Village", "Signs" and "Unbreakable" all sucked, but by the language of Hollywood they all were in the black. So given that "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs" were mega hits, he is still a long way from making SyFy films.
Looks good, but I don't like the title, and I hope he weaved the "shock element" into it that is only revealed at the end, as he did so masterfully in "The Sixth Sense."
Agree with other posters that though he's made good films since then, it hasn't been a constant progress...he's almost as close to make-or-break-it as Cameron Crowe, who I think has really "broken" it.
The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs are great suspense movies if you like a director who indulges a paranormal/geek ethos.
The Happening wasn't bad, it simply didn't pay off in the end. The Village had a good concept, but like The Cabin in the Woods, something was lost between the writing and filming stages.
I haven't seen Lady in the Water (not interested), Devil or After Earth (not interested).
I saw Lady in the Water and wanted to like it, but didn't. I saw Devil - super underwhelming. In both of these, interesting concepts, and I want to like it, because I dig the concept, but total letdowns.
The Village was interesting, and I liked the atmospheric work in it. But it's not brilliant film making or anything. I also like Bryce Dallas Howard a lot. So I may not have liked The Village if someone else played her role. I thought she really carried that movie.
I will never forgive him for "The Last Airbender". That sin was unforgivable, like George Lucas and the Star Wars prequels. Very bad movies of things you love cannot be unwatched.
UNBREAKABLE is a great movie. A sadly under appreciated classic.
