Treating everybody to Mission Impossible next weekend, one of the few times I will venture out to the movie theater. Tom Cruise is one of the true movie stars of my generation, regardless of his personal life or beliefs, he is a truly gifted actor.
Also, as someone mentioned in another post, he should have earned the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in Born on the Fourth of July, if you've never seen it, see it. You won't quickly forget it.
That was an inspiring performance. He doesn't shy away from courageous roles.

Even though it was more of Oliver Stone's propaganda, I thought TC did a great acting job in Born on the Fourth of July, and I thought he got robbed at Oscar time. I haven't seen him in much of anything else.
The Scientology stuff is goofy, but I have to say it seems that he really appreciates his fans. He's always signing autographs, always seems personable....and didn't he "save" a couple of fans once or twice when he drew big crowds that were crushing people?
I said the same thing that Tom got robbed at Oscar time after seeing his performance in "Born on the Fourth of July."
I had written off the MI series but went to see the last on because I like Brad Bird's work, I was not disappointed. I also very much liked Oblivion, if you have not seen it it is visually stunning. And I will see the new MI
