Does anyone find it odd that it released in Asia first? For that reason alone I won't be seeing this movie. Tired of the U.S being treated like 2nd class citizens.
LOL.. What??
The director James Wan is Chinese so they have that angle. Also, China is 1 billion people vs the USA 340 million people. It's simple business.
it has made $201.39m alone in China. It has already broken even on it's estimated Budget of $160–200 million.
How is the us being treated like 2nd class citizens?? It's a comic book movie.
Okay. Back. So, you have an issue with the USA being treated like a "second class citizen" because a big budget feature gets released in Asia before it's released stateside...
Did you stop watching Marvel's movies? Because they all pretty much debut overseas before they open here. That goes all the way back to the first Avengers movie, where Kevin Smith and Jay Mewes commented on seeing it while they were doing a gig in Australia. They made a visual gesture for Hulk swinging Loki around like a rag doll to avoid a spoiler for those of us back here.
The reason Aquaman opened in China first is because China REQUESTED it. Yes. Really. They figured Aquaman would be less competition for their home-grown productions, and they quickly found out they were wrong. The movie should bank 300 million before this weekend.
Hmm. Well, saw Aquaman. I wasn't all that impressed.
It didn't have any scene that gave me the feeling of "superhero" that Wonder Woman's "No Man's Land" scene. But I'll admit that was very rare--I can't think offhand of any other superhero film that did that, either.
I liked Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse significantly better. In fact, I'll try to catch it this week in 3D. I don't usually bother with 3D--the technology still looks to me like a ViewMaster, but I think the look may fit Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse well.
But I found Aquaman about on par with Marvel's average.
Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse, however, may be one of the top three superhero movies ever.

The Incredibles hit me in the feelz, but in a different way.
I thought the others were entertaining, but didn't get an uplift the way I did in WW's No Man's Land scene.
I thought this was entertaining. I wouldn't watch it again.
