You need a "Jump-2-Conclusions" mat.

So Marvel is apparently making Sub-Mariner more like Aquaman?

https://io9.gizmodo.com/marvel-is-se...e-f-1832136723

I have always liked Sub-Mariner, but if they're bringing him back, Marvel needs to seriously rethink his look. Mr. Spock in a Speedo might have worked in the '60s. It looks rather silly now.

"Back in the realm of comics," indeed, which is where Namor should stay. Marvel's got the X-Men and FF and all their adversaries back. They don't need their merman. One guy ruling the seas on the big screen is enough. Marvel won't be able to make their movie look better. Wan's Aquaman's undersea aesthetic covered all the bases, along with multiple races and beasts.

Sure. As far as I know, this resurfacing is in the comics only.

Doing Sub-Mariner before they've done two good Fantastic Four movies would be the height of stupidity. And two good Fantastic Four movies are still a long way away.

Namor will require a redesign from the ground up to not be the biggest meme target ever. There is no character with a more "dated" look...

None?

Maybe. Because I know that if I developed super-speed powers, my first order or business is going to be red tights and lightning tips over my ears.

There he goes, zeroing in on DC! Nothing wrong with those guys' suits. Hence, no changes. Look what happened when they tried to redesign Power Girl: no good. Yeah, the "window" accentuates her assets, but that's the way it is. Attempts to modify the outfit fell flat, haha.

I said there is no character with a "more dated" look: a guy showing up with ankle wings, flat-top 'do, Spock's eyebrows and ears, ankle wings AND trunks, and only trunks?

Yeah, that will go over really well.

Actually, Namor's look has been updated several times, and I'd expect them to go with something closer to this. That said, I don't really care since the character's never been one I've given much of a d-mn about.

It's hardly my fault the Flash has a silly costume.

Seriously though, he's not alone --- in Marvel or DC. You can count on your fingers the super heroes who don't have a silly costume. But I agree with you wholeheartedly that Sub-Mariner is in desperate need of a total revamp.

The Voice Cast for Robert Kirkman's Invincible Is Unbelievable

Quote:
The show will include the voices of Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), J.K. Simmons (Counterpart), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Andrew Rannells (Girls), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Walton Goggins (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Jason Mantzoukas (The League), Mae Whitman (The Duff), and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), to name but a few.

So, no big deal. Just an outstanding mix of Oscar winners, genre legends, comedy icons, superheroes, and more.
