I've not read the books either, but, Idris is in it so, it peaked my interest to take a look at the trailer when someone mentioned it elsewhere, so for sure I'm in.
Never read the book but this looks sweet. Love the cast!
Me neither but it looks great. The mind of Stephen King is one of a kind when it comes stories. For some reason though, I feel strongly its going to flop. Everytime I see the poster ir trailer I think this.

Hope not though.
You know, you could be right and I might just have my hopes up a little bit too high because, well, anyway, I will wait a week after the movie is in the theater before I head out to see it. The fact that they aren't allowing any critics to review it as yet, has me a tinsy bit worried.
I'll keep my fingers crossed, but, the trailer is quite tempting as have others been and then so disappointed.
In my opinion, the books are 'advanced Stephen King'. I'd never give these to a reader as their intro into King's multiverse, though the first book in the series is very accessible, an easy read (it gets quite...strange from there, but in a fantastic way). I just feel a reader would get so much more from The Dark Tower series having read a lot of King's prior work (given some of the things that occur later in the other books).
I'll see the film, but mainly for Flagg. LOVE me some Randall Flagg.

LOVED the Dark Tower series. At the time it came out, it was really different territory for SK.
I sure am looking forward to it. And a few more if they can keep to the story line.
