Ah-ha! Yes, I have read those! I wouldn't put them on my favorites list, but they were good. I enjoyed them. Killing Penguin right out of the gate seemed a little bone-headed.

If it bothers you, no one is forcing you to read it.
The books that inspire movies and TV shows are entirely relevant to the discussion.

they are books that actually not relevant to the movies at all except brief comments of Watchmen and The Killing Joke. Ronin, Batman: Earth 1, The Dark Knight Strikes Again, etc. Haven't. I used underline rather than italics since I am talking the stories. We are in a movie forum, this is detailing the topic.

The only rail for this particular topic is Marvel and DC action movies, all of which are based on Marvel and DC comics. Discussing the quality of the films often necessitates discussing the books on which they are based, the writers, etc. Just like anyone discussing L.A. Confidential would not be out of line for discussing the novel in relation to the movie.
Again, if you don't like it, don't read it. No one is forcing you. But don't killjoy everyone else's enjoyment.
I do hereby and humbly beg thy forgiveness for mentioning RONIN in a post, since it has not (yet) been made into a movie. But it was written by the guy who wrote some of the best Batman stories that have influenced the movies.
If there are elements of say Extrmeis used in various Iron Man movies that is one thing. Bringing up books with no movie or link is indeed off-topic. We have other forums for that.
I've been a Marvel fan since the late 70's so I am definitely biased here...I prefer Marvel's movies, big surprise, but mostly because I grew up with all these characters and it is just thrilling to see them come to life on screen. I'm sure if I grew up with DC Comics it would be different.
As far as DC movies I liked the Nolan Batman trilogy and I liked Wonder Woman. That's about it. I thought Man of Steel was hot garbage, and had no desire to see BvS. But I will say I like DC's television ventures much more than Marvel's (I much prefer the Flash and Arrow to the boring and insipid Agents of SHIELD) and I'm must admit I'm not a huge fan of Marvel's Netflix series either.
Now, if only DC would get their **** together and properly integrate their TV and movie universes, then that would be something.

Why do people keep saying things like that(when it's not true)?

Same here. Also, it's like adding extra items to an already crowed restaurant menu.

It's not going to happen. Because there is some sort of contractual rule that says that the TV characters cannot appear in the movies(or at least for Marvel). However, the movie characters may appear in the TV shows.
