I hope it will be great. No one wants to see a great Batman movie more than me.
Wrong.

Five or six seasons. Then we might get out of the shallows at least.
Mileage will vary. I like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes a lot. A lot more than War.
But commenting that "so-and-so director has never made a great movie, and that worries me" is akin to beating a drum and little more.
Martin Campbell directed some good movies, then he made Green Lantern. But then he made Casino Royale, which IMO is still the best of the Craig-Bond movies.
I just don't want campy Batman. Joss totally went there in Justice League. And the f-ing studio approved it. Meh.
Iconic characters that capture the imagination of the world will always garner endless reboots (movies, books, TV, etc). That's why we will always, no matter how much we complain, see reboots of Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, ad nauseaum. As a Wonder Woman fan, I hope that the mega success of her first solo film ensures that she also gets a steady stream of reboots in the future. As long as these characters make money, they will continue getting new movies.

I liked it too. But I didn't love it. I did love RISE (which was not Matt Reeves). And I liked CLOVERFIELD, even though the "heroes" were so annoying that I was rooting for the monsters the whole time.

Welcome to the Internet. Fruitless complaining at its finest.

Agreed. Adam West is the only campy Batman that works.
Maybe the genetic behaviorists are right and there is a gene for everything. A gene that causes people to like fruity alcohol drinks and Jimmy Buffet's music. And a gene that enables them to like Joss Whedon's writing. I am apparently missing all such genes.
