My parents had the habit of just leaving me asleep in front of the tv when I was a kid. One time I woke up and Burnt Offerings was on.

It is an excellent horror film - I've seen it several times. Always creeps me out. Dan Curtis was the director - he did the original Dark Shadows TV show in the 60s of which I was a huge fan.
