I have not seen it but was planning to. Wasn't this basically an American version of The Intouchables? Someone must have really screwed up somewhere then because the Intouchables has an 8.5 star rating on IMDB.

I still plan on seeing this movie too...just with lowered expectations! It has to be better than 1.0.
From what I've heard, the film is full of outdated, stereotypes and old movie tropes. Plus Kevin Hart is not known to be a dramatic actor and his usual comedy schtick is tiring.
I'm sure the original French version was done with more gravitas.

If you haven't seen the original, it really is a good movie.
When I first saw the preview, I didn't think Kevin Hart would be a good fit for the role. Nothing to do with any controversies. It just isn't a slap stick, run around and scream movie. Bryan Cranston seems like he will be good in his part, but I dont think he can carry this movie on his own.
I don't have anything against remakes, and if they had done a better casting job I would have been excited to see an "American" version. I will not be seeing this one though.
It could be a movie where the trailers have all the best parts so if you see that 15 times the movie is really anticlimactic
Kevin Hart seems to move at one speed all the time
He is not a very restful character because it is all one note
We will probably see it
I think Kidman is odd choice because this seems such a nothing part for her talent...

I've tried to watch it (the original) a couple of times but the subtitles are not synced correctly on the version I got and it was too annoying.
I'm still gonna try again tho.
