I think I had heard that they were looking to do a 3rd Bill & Ted movie. I like Keanu and think he's done some good movies but I expect this to bomb majorly. I imagine they will keep the budget in check to guard against that very-real possibility.
I just don't understand why Keanu would want to do this movie - he really must love it to come back to it again after creating a pretty nice career for himself. Alex Winter is 53 now and I imagine he would want (and possibly need) to do the film but Keanu is 54 now and has no need to do this.

None of the movies you mention came out near 30 years after the previous installment.
Maybe think more Star Wars : The Phantom Menace and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for sequels after a significant amount of time. Did those suck? Yep.
But.. I have hope. Even though there will be no George Carlin.. If done right.. This could be decent. If they try to make it just like the original two movies with the actors in their 50's now.. Not going to fly. But, B&T were forced to grow up.. They got normal jobs.. Here it is 30 years later, they were supposed to save the world and nothing has happened.. I like the concept. All depends on the execution.
