I saw this last night and I absolutely loved it.

Its basically the childhood story of Superman, BUT, in this movie, he is NOT here to do good.

Im not sure if this was from a comic book character or if its totally new, but I think there is plenty of room for more movies in the future if it does good at the box office.

I thought it presented a new twist on the old origin of a superhero story. Except this person is a villain.
BUT.... then I looked at the character in question and there was just no originality there. A direct rip off of Superman. And we've seen the kid learns he has super powers before time and again. So this was Damien meets Superman. His origin itself was lacking. Where'd he come from? Why was he being influenced to kill and be evil? Very two dimensional.
They might have had something had they given him something else for abilities. Maybe an evil sociopath inventor Tony Stark. Or a Captain America that's more Red Skull in mind set.

I agree. Also, the mask was ugly as hell.

So the production budget was a mere 6 million? Why do I not believe that? Sounds more like damage control.

It didn't even crack 10 million domestically over MDW, and not even 18M worldwide.

Could not think of a less interesting name than brightburn. The concept is both vaguely interesting and an immense turn off. A bad Superman? No thank you!

I saw it online. It was not that great of a movie and the boy who played Brightburn or whatever his name was..was not a good choice. The kid had zero charisma. It was the cliche of a kid on the spectrum/autistic with superpowers.
