King Arthur 2004

it was shot seemly in the winter so for me I tend to watch it in the winter when it’s cold to get the wood stove going.

And of course everyone’s favorite Halloween movie It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.

Ben Hur at Easter, the Charlton Heston version. If TCM doesn't show it, we pop the DVD in, but mainly to watch the charioteer race! We usually also make sure we watch at least part of The Ten Commandments. So we usually have a Chuck Heston Easter in some form or other...

Other than that, we usually bring certain DVDs on vacation every summer, including Jeremiah Johnson, and The River of No Return. If we know we are going to visit certain movie locations, we bring those DVDs and a player, but that isn't a seasonal tradition.

You bring movies on vacation? Why? You can watch movies at home.

Hi NDak! Because we like to watch movies shot in areas we're visiting, but above all because we don't have a TV (or Internet) in our North Idaho cabin, and sometimes we just like to have a bit of movie entertainment after a long day of working on the cabin or being out and about. So we bring a little DVD player.

We watch some Christmas movies during the holidays.

We need a new version of A Christmas Carol. The George C. Scott version is good, but the special effects are crude. And it was made for TV. And Scott’s accent is a mess. But he is a great Scrooge, otherwise.

But I would like to see a new version with the same great production values.

We also watch other, “classic” Christmas movies.

In that case it staves off cabin fever.

Ah, I must be the only one of Irish descent on
c-d 🍀.

What about March?

"The Quiet Man" and "Only the Lonely" are two of my favorites. Loved Maureen O'Hara in the latter.
