Since it is now on HBOGO I watched tonight. I was not expecting much based on some of the reviews. But I liked it. A lot of the "space science" was a little hard to swallow. But I thought the acting was great (but then again with so much star power, how could it not be).
I get what they were going for with the movie and do appreciate that. I found it slow, which I'm fine with. However, it was depressing and I just didn't care all that much what happened next.
It seems like the space theme was just an after thought. I got this feeling that they started with Apocalypse Now and decided to put it in space. It was ok, but I can't say I'll be rewatching this any time soon.

I developed the odd habit of falling asleep during movies past c. 3-5 years. Sort of a superpower (no, not really). Nodded off in this one at the theater, woke up later, it was near done. Didn't feel I'd missed much.
Quite thoughtful, all of it, but the pacing was off.
Saw it again not long ago in the past few months on (whatever it was, some streaming service or other). Watched it start to finish with no sleep break. Felt I may have had the right idea earlier, see above. Yes, Brad Pitt is an actor and a fine one. As is Tommy Lee Jones, ditto Donald Sutherland's cameo. All-said, not for everyone.
