Cate Blanchette - perfect movie.
Your eyes have so much to look at, art, scenery, Cate herself, Kristin Wigg, ha.
Seattle...not a minute of boring or slow...I need that in a movie.
Richard Linkletter...pacing was perfect...but
I agree that it was a visually impressive movie (I LOVE the Seattle library!), but the story was soooo choppy and diluted from the book. I sort of felt like I wouldn't have known what was going on if I hadn't previously read the book. I was really disappointed.
Loved the book. I go to see all of Richard Linklater's films at the theater. Ticket sold!
I LOVE Linklater's films, especially his "Before" trilogy with Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. I couldn't get past page 40 in Semple's novel, though, so I had no interest in the film.
And yet every frame, for me, was filled with art or eccentric things to look at
and there was never a dull moment!!
Could have been called, "Woman On the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown"...
but that was taken.
I loved it!
