The acting is good. I just wish the writing was better. And the music SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. And for that, there is just no excuse. Other movies from that era with 1/10th of the budget had soundtracks that were a hundred times better. It's really painful to hear how really stunningly bad the music is in THE BREAKFAST CLUB.

I mean, look at this. Not only is it dumb and unrealistic, but the music is just painful.
Right, that's why hardly anyone likes the movie 35 years after it's release.

Not even a little.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB is not a bad movie. It just ain't great. It's okay. It's not even John Hughes's best movie --- not by a long shot. But the music is truly bad, yes. Really, really horrible.

And no, I'm not talking about "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds. That's a decent song. It's only in the end credits. The rest of the music throughout the movie sucks big time.

This part gets me so hype, lol. I'm enjoying the trip down memory lane.

I actually HATE movies that have good music, but everything else is just mediocre. It's like lipstick on a pig. I love this film for all of it's quirks and blemishes, that it's stood the test of time in spite of those things.

In am the same with this movie. I had a crush on her back then so it really puts a damper on my wanting to watch this movie again.
