Just for me, I read the marvel comics as a kid. Marvel did the best job of bringing the characters to life true to the source material (mostly).

As for the topic, I couldn’t get into snow piercer or Frozen. I tried watching both movies three times and just couldn’t make it without stopping at about 20 min. Both were terrible movies in my opinion.

The first Matrix movie. I analyzed it in a class during Freshmen year of college and found the plot to be so predictable. Everybody up to then were too wowed by its special effects to give much thought about the plot.

So one of my black friends (who's very pro-black) and myself got into our "heated but we're still friends" debate about overrated movies. For MONTHS after it came out, he was urging me to see Black Panther. So I finally did and I thought it was.....okay at best. Not a bad movie, enjoyable but HIGHLY overrated in my opinion.

The Black Panther character is definitely cool and much before the movie I enjoyed the Black Panthers comics I read. And I thought Black Panther was super cool in the Avengers: Civil War movie. However, the Black Panther movie itself was just so damn overrated. It was not nearly as deep as people were making it out to be. And truth be told, it got so much hype because its almost entirely Black cast. There's nothing wrong with that but the movie itself was just a typical super hero movie.

And it annoyed me that so many people who don't know better, acted as if this was the first ever Black super hero movie.

Because Blade came up almost 20 years before that and Blade KICKS ASS.

The original Star Wars (I've never seen any of the others). It was huge - so much hype and I expected so much. Went to the theater was walked out disappointed. That was it for me and Star Wars. I was in my teens then - back when it was a new movie.

Her Smell (2019), Alex Ross Perry - 10/10 ( Amazon stream $1.99 )

Sometimes a film will lose you in the beginning, and the comeback is unforeseen and surprising in it's execution. I should have had more faith in Alex Ross Perry ( if you haven't seen is 2011 film The Color Wheel - seek it out and you'll be rewarded - it's available on Amazon Prime).

Spoiler
I'm still trying to figure out the title sequence lol.
