I'm very surprised that this topic hasn't been brought up. I did a search to see if it were made but to my surprise it wasn't. Anyway, lets get into this!
What are some of the most or thee most overrated movie(s) you have ever watched?
There's quite a few for me but my recent pick would be Snow Piercer. Probably not the absolute most overrated but I just wasn't impressed with the movie and I really tried to enjoy it. Prior to watching this movie, I was hearing so much hype and rave about it from critics, fans and almost everyone I know personally, who watched it. After seeing it, I thought it was "okay". The premise is pretty interesting but..I don't know I just really didn't get into the hype.
Anything by Quentin Tarantino. None have appealed to me.
Finally, another person who's not a Tarantino fan! I have tried to get into his movies but I can't. They are simply too horrible. Worse almost than Rob Zombie's, and his are pretty bad.
If someone else rates a movie higher than do I, it would be ragingly narcissistic for me to insist that they should rate them lower just because I do. I love, love, love Andrei Rublev, Once Upon a Time in the West, and The Passenger (the 1975 Jack Nicholson film). It does not follow that I think you or anyone else should hold them in the same esteem as do I.
The whole idea of overrating (or underrating) a piece of art is as silly as it is self-centered.

I get what you're saying but I would consider a movie overrated when its critically acclaimed or has overwhelmingly positive reception. At the end of the day, we can like what we want. I don't think its right or wrong, I don't think its better or worse. Its all about differences of opinions and views.

I agree. I'm really not into Tarrantino films myself. I enjoyed the Kill Bills but everything else I really can't get into.
