A memory lane---
Just visiting on my way to Boston to live...then, visiting friends later:
-Front row Stage left - 'Agnes of God' - Geraldine Page, Elizabeth Ashley, Amanda Plummer---
AND with small, inconspicuous binoculars besides...I could see the lines on their faces. Wow.
Brilliant, transcendent, all.
-Some other thing with Judith Ivey, Ed Harris
-Off Broadway - 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', funny story I later waited on a prominent character, one of the
patients, in Key West, FL at Rod's Restaurant on Duval St...When I said something about seeing him
there (imagine that) -he could care less, lol, I didn't exist to him - an unattractive man
with a big nose that I later saw in bit parts in movies, like, as a cab driver type...but maybe for Jack Nickelson, ha.
-'Torch Song Trilogy' with Harvey Fierstein, a Tony for that.
Not bad for not living there yrs ago. The restaurants after -oh, man.
I know I'm being terribly pedantic (please forgive me), but a point of clarification ... there is a difference between plays and musicals.
Most of the shows we're discussing in this thread are musicals. They use song and dance to tell the story. Plays generally stick with the spoken word. (I say generally because there are exceptions ... "Lady Day at Emersons Bar and Grill" is a play and not a musical because the songs that are sung in the show don't progress the story.)
Also, I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I had/have tickets to see 'Six' in the West End, as well as 'Company' and 'The Music Man' (starring Hugh Jackman) on Broadway, but COVID has messed things up. Six and Company have been cancelled, and I'm not optimistic about the future of The Music Man. My tickets are for mid-December, but Broadway is now shut down until Sept 6 and they were supposed to open to previews on Sept 9. I don't know if they'll delay the opening or cancel the production altogether.
I'm sure I am missing a lot, but here is what I remember. Several I've seen multiple times, maybe too many.

None on Broadway, as I live in California. But we have seen many (plays & musicals) over the years, as we had season tickets to different regional theaters.
I've never seen a touring production and I couldn't even begin to list all of the plays and musicals that I have seen on Broadway and off Broadway. My first musical was Carousel, which I saw as a child and I didn't really understand it. When I grew up, I got a job working for Broadway producers. I'm still friends with a couple of choreographers.
The only one I've seen on Broadway is The Adams Family Musical with Brooke Shields.
