Is there a filmed version of Aida? I had looked before, but didn't see one. I had gone to see the last night of it's run at a local outdoor theater, but it got rained out not even halfway through. I really enjoyed the first part of the musical, and have been disappointed ever since that I never got to see the rest. I've read the synopsis and know all that happens, but I still want to see the story play out.

I'm a big musical theatre fan, so I think I've seen just about every filmed production of Broadway musicals. I got my love of theatre from my grandmother, so I watched all the older films with her.

I'm excited about Hamilton coming to Disney+ in a few weeks, especially since it was filmed while the original cast was still on Broadway. I've seen it twice on stage, and have probably listened to the original cast recording hundreds of times over the past few years.

I don't think there is a filmed version of Aida. It was really, really good - sets & costumes. My sister got tickets
from work and when we got there - we had no idea that Monkee, Micky Dolenz was in it playing an evil king.
We grew up watching Monkee re-runs. He sang two good songs.

I never saw Hamilton. I hear it's really good. I know a few people who saw Wicked and they weren't too
crazy about it.

I'm realizing now that the thread title said plays, and my list is 90% musicals. But i think musicals was the intention behind the question.

When I was a child, I kept asking my mother what she'd seen on Broadway, and I couldn't understand why she didn't remember. Of course, as I eventually found out, there is so much going on at any one time, there's no reason anyone would remember.

Unlike you, I'm not much interested in musicals, espeically not newer ones. In fact, I'm sorry now that I haven't made more of a point of seen Sondheim productions.

But some memorable things were Ralph Fiennes' Hamlet, Janet McTeer's A Doll House, Arcadia, and King Charles III.

Oh, what we've seen live, not a filmed production. Gotcha.

I've only been to New York twice so haven't seen too many on Broadway. I saw

Rent
Thoroughly Modern Milly
Urine Town
Into the Woods
42nd Street

My list of shows I've seen in other cities is too long, so I'll just list the ones I've seen multiple times and obviously love.

Rent (3x)
Hamilton (2x)
Wicked (3x)
Evita (3x)
Sound of Music (3x)
Singing in the Rain(2x)
Chicago (2x)
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (3x)
Les Miserables (3x)
Oklahoma (2x)
The Addams Family (2x)
Mamma Mia (3x)
Hairspray (2x)
Annie (2x)
Kinky Boots (2x)
Matilda (2x)
Cinderella (3x)
Phantom of the Opera (2x)

I think those are the only ones I've seen more then once.

On Broadway I’ve only had the chance to see Wicked and Beautiful

I won’t remember all the traveling shows...

Hamilton
Lion King
les Mis
Phantom of the Opera (and the sequel)
The Bodyguard
Anastasia
Miss Saigon
Mamma Mia
Annie
Waitress
Come from Away
Aladdin
Jersey Boys
The Book of Mormon
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
South Pacific
La Cage aux Folles
School of Rock

There are more. We do season tickets to the Fox Theater here and missed so many this year. I was really sad that I got Hamilton tickets for my parents anniversary and it was, of course, cancelled. They had been so excited.

How was Beautiful? Carole King songs? I would like to see Come from Away. My brother & a cousin saw it
and enjoyed it.

Not a play but I saw and highly recommend Riverdance!
