As I have been digging though my DVD/BluRay collection to fill in the nights during our lock down, I've picked out several films from now disgraced actors. Specifically the last couple of nights Mel Gibson in "Signs" and the brilliant "Thee Patriot". But I'm also thinking of Kevin Spacey and, more in television people like Jussie Smollet.

How do you feel about these and other such actors who have disgraced themselves?

Actors disgracing themselves is as old as Shakespeare. At least none of them recently has assassinated a president.

Why do people these days expect actors to be perfect human beings?

Yeah, I still watch Goodfellas and A Bronx Tale, despite DeNiro making a consummate ass of himself in recent years.

LOVE IT!

Yes, I do watch it if the actor was any good.

If I stopped watching every actor who was accused (but never proven) of some type of crime, or stopped watching GOOD actors who keep making ludicrous political statements I would be relegated to watching Bugs Bunny reruns.

I have just learned to ignore their political views cause I don't care what they are; however they do have the right to speak. And really, the ignorance of an actor making a stupid statement is not the problem, the problem is the people who think that particular moronic actor knows anything about anything.

I will watch Jane Fonda prior to her trip to Vietnam. After that, no way in hell. So … Barberella.

I don't believe Gibson is still considered disgraced. He was up for an Oscar for Hacksaw Ridge a few years ago.

Lots of people who are good at their jobs are also not great as human beings, most of the time I'm not going to know. Whether that influences if, or how, I do business with them is judged on a case by case basis, especially if I think what they've done is mostly because they're ignorant and not malicious. A lot of disgraced actors come across to me as just stupid.

I would probably still watch On the Waterfront even though it was directed by that rat Elia Kazan.
