Kinda odd but I have always enjoyed books or movies centered around families or neighborhoods knowing a situation is coming (disaster, invasion, etc) and it showing those said people plan and get ready for it...does anyone have any movies off the top of there head that fit that criteria?

"Greenland" comes to mind. One of the best disaster movies that I've seen in recent years and is centered around family, and planning for survival. I don't want to spoil it but if you haven't seen it yet, definitely check it out.
The Day After, a 1983 made-for-TV movie about people surviving in Middle America after WW3 goes nuclear. Not exactly showing how people prepared for nuclear Armageddon, rather how impossible it would be to prepare for a disaster of such magnitude, let alone survive it.
