Don't know if mentioned previously, but in the movie, "Airplane!", there's a scene in a nightclub where an old, passed-out drunk falls against a jukebox, which causes a record to start playing (Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive") and the old drunk breaks into a dance. In that same scene, the man dancing with Julie Haggerty gets a knife thrown into his back and he's pointing at it to get her attention but she doesn't pick up on that and starts mimicking his gestures as if it's part of the dance.
Here are a few of mine: Steve Martin and John Candy waking up in each other's arms in "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." Dudley Moore's dancing while undressing in "Foul Play." Cary Grant learning his little old lady aunts are killing people in "Arsenic and Old Lace." The scene in "What's Up Doc" in which the old judge brings out all of his medication.
A scene in the film: "Get Real", where a young gay man named Steven is slow dancing with his female friend, Linda.
He proceeds to "get excited" while staring at the guy he has a mutual crush with. Linda notices and implies that he is getting frisky because of their dancing. Steven proceeds to tell her that he was thinking of someone else.
Everyone is embarassed as they continue dancing; since Steven's boyfriend is dancing with his own girlfriend, but the two guys are just looking at one another and not their dancing partners.
I went back into time with this thread to see if anyone ever mentioned it. Sure enough here it is. Have you ever been in a theatre and there are those laughing 5 minutes after the scene had ended? This was the theater atmosphere 5 minutes after that shot occurred. I was amongst those. Honorable mention would be Nationa Lampoon's Vacation when Chevy Chase freaked out on his family after they told him they didn't want to go to Wally World any longer.
