Am I the only person who thinks we are in desperate need of a prequel?? I think this for two reasons:

1) The need to salvage this story, as they ended it on a ****-poor finale.

2) There's a lot of untold story here. They have the opportunity to show the evolution of the machines, as well as the man vs. machine war..... Don't forget the torching of the sky!!!

Animatrix seemed to do a fairly good job as a prequel...

Animatrix is comprised of 9 'episodes'. Of these, The Second Renaissance, Parts I and II are perhaps the closest to serving as a prequel. The other episodes provide additional insight into the Matrix universe. I do not think you'll be disappointed.

You can also get the video game and have your little brother play it to watch the little movie parts between levels.
Animatrix was pretty interesting. After watching it, the guy who gives Neo the spoon made sense (is he the suicide guy?).
I agree that the last one had too many effects and not enough story. Those robot fighters would have made more sense if the were operated by kids with XBOX or PS2 controls.

The first Matrix was fun. I saw one of the Animatrix series as a pre-show 7 minute short. It seemed pretty sexy. But Matrix 2 demanded too much diving in deeper---so unfortunately, I did not care to follow the series further.

I think that was the short about the Osiris, it was a bridge between the 1st and 2nd movie.

the whole series for me crashed and burned when the Architect came out. did ANYONE understand what the heck he was saying the first time they saw it? I owned the movie and gave up trying to understand after multiple tries
