There is all sorts of new information and clips for this movie so I thought I would add it to this thread and get some discussion going. I am personally very excited to see Disney releasing a 2D animated film. Those were the classics and this one looks fantastic. Here is a poster and some clips. Enjoy!

Looks gorgeous.

But it also looks like Disney formula. I'll wait for the DVD on this one.

I'm gonna go check it out, I think it should be pretty funny but hopefully not racist...I'm actually bothered that she turns into a froggy too...damn.

Why does the little lightning bug have to be so ugly. It's toothless and sounds ignorant. They could've done better with the little sidekick. First black princess, but very ugly sidekick.

Oh, I hardly think it is the Disney formula, but if by formula you mean great music, amazing animation, impressive voice talent and a heartwarming story...then sign me up!

I don't think it will be racist and I'm actually looking forward to their showcase of Southern history and heritage. I believe the original story also has her turning into a frog once she kisses one, so that part of the story was expected.

Ahh yes nothing from youtube for me either.

Anyhow the black girl at work told me about this. I guess its a big deal to her to finally have Disney put out a movie about a black princess. She says "why do they always have to be white" and I respond because disney was a racist. Of course I dont know if that is actually true but its funny to me because I have a sick sense of humour.

Anyways she says the concept of the movie is opposite of what normally happens when a princess kisses a frog. The princess actually turns into a frog. Racist?
