Hubby & I went to see The Changeling yesterday and was blown away by everything about the movie: the gripping storyline (which at times has a horror kinda feel to it during the really dark scenes), the music, the superb acting on everyone involved - even the kids, the directing, the costume/makeup, and the overall authentic 'feel' of the movie.

I don't care how you feel about Angelina Jolie, she completely carried the movie with such superb acting. Clint Eastwood again showed what a talented director he is. I think this movie will get a few oscar nominations, especially for Angelina Jolie. She was that good!

Warning though, this movie is quite dark and heartwrenching in a lot of scenes, not to mention haunting, although never graphic. We went home feeling satisfied because it's worth the ticket price and then some.

I also thought it was great, not at all what I expected. Reminded me of Mystic River.
Disappointing that it didn't do well, all that means is more "animated" movies (not that there's anything wrong with that) and frat boy mentality movies with Owen Wilson. What happens when you make an intelligent adult film and no one shows up - they stop making them.

This isnt the type of movie that is a blockbuster though.

It has a very select demographic that will be into it.

I will definately be checking it out ASAP when it comes out on DVD.

I saw Changeling this afternoon. I was very impressed with this movie, and the acting was outstanding in this film. I think Angelina did an excellent job in this role. I found the period the late 1920's into the early 30's was filmed in a way that I felt I was actually watching a movie of that day and age. I did not know until this film that the community of Mira Loma, Calif was originally Wineville the sight of all those terrible murders of those kids. Its a shame this film did not do better at the box office, so far anyway. I could say I don't understand the reason for that but I do, many americans enjoy trash and that is what the studios usually produce. I would recommend Changeling to anyone that wants a quality movie based on a true story with excellent acting.

Just watched it. What a GREAT movie!! The beginning was slow but then holy moley I was hooked!
---SPOILER----
What happened to her son?? I'm so bummed we never found out!

All in all amazing movie. Eastwood did a great job. Always a fan of Malkovich and great acting from Jolie. Did anyone else notice Jolie's character change as the movie progressed? She went from a very timid woman to very strong-willed towards the end. Really neat!

I loved the movie but it totally bummed me out that it was a true story. I'm not an AJ fan either but I really enjoyed watching her in this movie
