I did feel sorry for Thornburg at first cause I didn't find him to be all that bad of a guy and I've felt very shocked and surprised that Holly would wanna punch him, I didn't find him to be all the bad but later on I later realized what kind of sleazebag Thornburg is and that made me lose sympathy and respect for him.
I felt bad she didn't punch him harder. He is one of those guys that almost always plays a sleazeball and does it so well he may be on in real life. Ghostbusters, Life, Die Hard 1 & 2, Biodome, Real Genius, Buried Alive, etc.
One of the funniest bits in Die Harder was when he was broadcasting from the plane. They cut back to the studio broadcast and they had picked a picture of him in which he looked like a complete idiot with his mouth hanging open.
You also have to remember that this movie came out in the 80's and he was playing the cliched heartless broadcaster. This movie was full of cliches: the cops and Feds were incompetent, the Japanese were successful businessmen, the crazy black guy who helps the hero win, the WASP businessman was a cokehead, ruthless Germans, etc.
Hell no he went to her house, scared her children and put her life in jeopardy all in the name of ratings. He got off easy. And I LOVED it when she zapped him with the stun gun in Die Hard 2.
He was a Nerd Turd no doubt about it. He deserved what he got.
Die Hard. . . My favorite Christmas movie.
