"The Dark Knight" I agree with all who made this choice and even if it was not the single best, it is absolutely the most memorable one in my opinion.

I have to go with THE DARK KNIGHT, with IRON MAN and THE INCREDIBLE HULK running real close behind. (Great year for super hero movies. I liked HANCOCK too. Not my #1, but it would make by top 10.)

Although there were lots of lauded 2008 films I didn't catch in the theater. I'm waiting for the DVD.

As Mark S says, there are several that I have not yet seen, including Milk.

Still haven't seen:

"The Class"

"Slumdog Millionaire"

"Frost/Nixon"

I thought Wall-E was brilliant. The Dark Knight was very good.
Iron Man and Tropic Thunder were good, if not great IMHO.
