That's just it: John Carpenter was trying to go back to his original plan. He wanted to make a series of Halloween-connected films, not a Michael Myers franchise. He caved in for the sequel because the studo insisted. Then, for the third one, he tried to show them what he meant to do, even including a bow to "Halloween" via a clip on TV. Most people figure that he should have called it "Season of the Witch", with no "Halloween" attached. Maybe this would have allowed him to carry out his original vision.

I don't like any "Halloween" films after the first one though I can tolerate about the last half hour of the second one and do enjoy seeing Lance "The Last Starfighter" Guest. But, my enjoyment of "Season of the Witch" has increased over time.

Never cared for the slasher type films, just don't get the nudity/killing turn-on thing. Not a James Bond fan. Thought the last Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones film was bad. Drive with Ryan Gosling was terrible. Independence Day was ok till the speech at the end, ruined the movie. Watching Woody Allen movies is like kissing your sister or is that kissing your daughter, never cared for them. First Rocky was good, the rest a waste. Don't care for the Batman movies, like Spiderman movies, but not the last one just out. Don't go to alot of movies, so I cannot say to much.
